The JConcepts design team has spent many hours indevelopment with leading team drivers to develop a high-speed style body,specifically for the latest circuits. One of the most recognizable items, theSilencer body style, has now been designed as the original manufacturer kitbody for the Yokomo YZ4-SF buggy.
A brand-new, ground up design, the Silencer, has newelements created for the high speed tracks. A profiled cockpit and cubicleside-pod gives the Silencer an immediate fighting appearance. A smooth,high-speed transition around the cab keeps the Silencer heading in the rightdirection. A slight recess just behind the cab with channeling out the rearprovides rear-end stability. The Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end,narrowing the rear by angling in just in front of the rear tires. The rearside-pods angle sharply toward the shock tower and wing, enhancing the forceplaced on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration.
The main pods are lightly chamfered front and rear allowingplenty of paint and decal access. The end result has the body looking extremelylow-profile with heavy JConcepts edginess and appeal. The Silencer is cappedoff with a cock-pit "shark fin" for more high-speed tracking stability andincreased roof stiffness. The package includes two, S-Type wings pre-marked forthe Yokomo YZ2 and YZ4-SF for the easiest application.
Success on the track -
Ryan Maifield took the Silencer to the track during theannual Surf City Classic event earning a victory in prototype form. During theproduction release, Maifield once again had an incredible weekend at the 2017IFMAR World Championships. Ryan scored with a breakthrough performance as hesecured the IFMAR World Championship in the 4wd modified class utilizing theSilencer body.
Notes from the team -
After several race events, the JConcepts team has noted theback of the body has 2 cut lines to choose from. The most open cut linecan change the performance or aide in the cooling inside the body. The moreaggressive (larger opening) cut line is preferred on outdoor tracks or whereambient temperatures are really warm.
